James - Chapter 2
James 2:1 says, “My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, [the Lord] of glory, with respect of persons.” Father God is not a “respecter” of persons and does not want you to be either, which means “the fault of one who when called on to give judgment has respect of the outward circumstances of man and not to their intrinsic merits, and so prefers, as the more worthy, one who is rich, high born, or powerful, to another who does not have these possessions or qualities.
James 2:2 says, “For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;” Here you have one who just looks like money and another who looks poor and withered.
James 2:3 says, “And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:” You lavish the one who looks like money and deprive the one who has little, demonstrating your authority, this making you a respecter of persons which Father does not like. While one may have much carnally, they are still poor as a church mouse if they do not have the blessings and riches of Father God. Those who look like they have nothing or very little of this world may have far greater riches because they are under the veil of Father God, lavished with the truth of His Word and are looked upon in wonder because you can see the Spirit of Father God radiating from them.
James 2:4 says, “Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?” If you are a respecter of persons you are double-minded and have no station in life, blowing in the wind, never dependable in your thoughts or speech, changing from one day to the next. You are untrustworthy. You have no basis because you have no foundation in Christ Jesus.
James 2:5 says, “Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?” Those who may not have much carnally and are hearers and doers of Father’s Word have greater riches than any who have the riches of this world. Father God blesses His children to see to it they have what is needful. The riches of this world can draw you away from obedience and discipline which is required to be in the service of our LORD. Those under the wings of Father God, doing His will, serving to be a part of His Plan, seek the riches of the Eternal Age.
James 2:6 says, “But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?” Those whose only interest is in dollars will walk all over you to keep it and attain more. They will drag you from the lowest to the highest courts to take whatever you have by any means necessary. This is why christians do not want to be a part of the assembly of the world. Always communicate with Father who will protect you from the ways of the world when you are under His veil of protection, hearing and doing His will, which is His Word.
James 2:7 says, “Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?” Those who think they are somebody, as those high rollers of the business they call a church, mocked Christ Jesus and to this day they mock christianity which is of Christ Jesus. Those of the world do not want to hear anything about our LORD. Father sits high and looks low; nothing is escaping Him. Stay under the veil of Father God.
James 2:8 says, “If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:” There is only One who is Royal and that is Father God Almighty and Christ Jesus is our Scriptures, for He is our Living Word. The Word teaches us to do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
James 2:9 says, “But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.” Treat everyone the same so you never become a respecter of persons. Judge the tree by its fruit and plant the truth of the Royal Law, which is the Holy Bible, to any who will receive it.
James 2:10 says, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all.” Sin is sin in the eyes of Father and no one is free from it. Bless our LORD that we have repentance through Christ Jesus.
James 2:11 says, “For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.” Father God gives us instructions through His Commandments and teachings to keep His children out of trouble while living in the flesh. However, when you do sin, repent, having a change of heart and mind, and while you may have to answer to the law of man with no forgiveness, Father God, through Christ Jesus will forgive a true heart. The law of man cannot open the doors to Heaven for you, only abiding by the laws of Father God can. When you commit those offenses of sin not repented for, it is our Father who hands down the judgment and there is not one of mankind who can stop it. This is why Father said when one among you commit certain crimes such as premeditated murder and rape, “send them to Me.” The only way to get to Father God is through death of the flesh and that is the penalty for those crimes committed as we live in the flesh. Genesis 9:6 says “Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.” Numbers 25:16 – 21 teaches of what shall happen to one who premeditates murder; that person shall be put to death and sent to our Father God.
James 2:12 says, “So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.” The law of liberty is forgiveness which is that salvation that comes through Christ Jesus who sacrificed Himself upon that cross at Calvary that mankind could receive the healing and come before Father God’s Throne, that veil having been rent from top to bottom, seeking forgiveness for sins committed.
James 2:13 says, “For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.” “Mercy” is “of God towards men: in general providence; the mercy and clemency of God in providing and offering to men salvation by Christ Jesus” who has victory over judgment..
James 2:14 says, “What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?” Faith and works go hand and hand. Faith without works is dead. You must love Father God and not be a respecter of persons, serving under the law of liberty which sets you free. You must be a worker for Father God, having faith in His promises, doing His will and never turning away from Father’s love because through faithful study you are grafted to our Lord Jesus Christ which brings about blessings and that veil of protection wherein you receive mercy which triumphs over all the things of this world.
James 2:15 says, “If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,” When one is down and doing without, having need of any good thing.
James 2:16 says, “And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be [ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what [doth it] profit?” When one is hungry, having any needs whatsoever and all you say is you will offer prayer for them, you are of no use. Share what you have and give them the opportunity of having a new beginning, a fresh start. Spiritually this is speaking of the famine of the end times for hearing the word of Father God and it is the elections duty under the will of our LORD to plant seeds of truth, nourishing their spirits that they become a part of the family of Father God, filled with His Holy Spirit as Christ Jesus feeds them the Living Word. Just as you fulfill a carnal need, the spiritual needs must be nourished as well. Offering that which will lift one up and give them that start needed, as in planting a seed of truth and they continue working through studying Father’s Word in the Name of Christ Jesus by the blessings of the Holy Spirit to receive that increase of understanding only our LORD can give.
James 2:17 says, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” If you have faith in Father it is only natural that you want to serve Him. Father God wants His children to revere Him and in order to love Father it is necessary to know Him which is only accomplished through understanding His Word and being a vessel to be used to spreading the truth of His Gospel.
James 2:18 says, “Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.” Your faith and works are between Father and yourself as well as through yourself and those you come in contact with. It shows how much Father is loved and the joy it brings to be under His will knowing that when life is once more with our Father in the Heavenly Age, your good deeds; your works done on earth shall be rewarded in Heaven. Having faith in God is not enough. You must be under His will, first understanding His Truths and then sharing that same truth with any who have ears to hear and eyes to see. Working for Father is what keeps your faith in Him alive and flourishing.
James 2:19 says, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” The good and the wicked, including satan, know that there is only one Father God Almighty. The wicked and faithless may try to create their own gods however it is nothing more than a cheap imitation because “YAHOVAH, I AM THAT I AM” is our One any Only True LORD God Almighty. Now knowing there is only One Father God Almighty and not giving yourself over to Him, Father receives no pleasure in you.
James 2:20 says, “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” Faith is a wonderful thing and pleases our Father. However to know and love our LORD you must understand His Word and share that truth with all those having ears to hear and eyes to see. This brings our Father joy and all become a part of His family when we magnify Father through our Living Word who is Christ Jesus.
James 2:21 says, “Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?” Abraham loved Father so much that he was offering his son as a sacrifice to our LORD, a child Abraham had longed for. Abraham had faith in our Father and would not question, rather obey. Even the son of Abraham did not question when his father told him to lay upon the sacrificial bed. Father God of course did not want this child to be sacrificed as our LORD had a lamb offered who was symbolic of our Messiah Christ Jesus who at that time was yet to come. Father just wants to know that His children love and trust Him and never doubt that whatever Father has stored up for His children is loving, kind and good.
James 2:22 says, “Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?” Faith is made perfect by your works. II Thessalonians 3:10 says if one does not work, do not feed him. If one is too lazy to support themselves to serve their carnal needs and you have tried to help them, do not lavish them because then they have no reason to fend for themselves. Spiritually, if someone always talks about loving and having faith in Father and you share truth with them yet they never do any good works for our LORD on their own, kick the dust and leave them to their religion. Christianity is walking a Christ-like path and Christ taught us how we should pray and do the works of Father God Almighty that as you learn the truth you share that same truth planting seeds of understanding wherever they may be heard. Never cast your pearls before swine since they are not doers of Father’s Word. Truth is a blessing when it is shared.
James 2:23 says, “And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.” This is Isaiah 41:8. Faith is the substance of loving our Father God wherein you do His Works and receive blessings only our LORD can give. You are a part of the many membered body of Christ Jesus; a part of His christian family when you do the will of Almighty God and stand, demonstrating faith being a doer of the Word, waiting for our Companion, our Bridegroom, who is Christ Jesus.
James 2:24 says, “Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.” Faith and works go hand and hand in order to be pleasing to our Father. Separate them and you lack the foundation of christianity which is of and for Christ Jesus.
James 2:25 says, “Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent [them] out another way?” Rahab, was a businesswoman and as is sometimes the case as we now live, because of her success, was labeled a harlot by jealous tongues not by Father God. She was a maker of fine materials and the flax {fiber used to make linen which is symbolic of Heavenly apparel} used was placed on the roof to dry. It is under this flax that Rahab hid the messengers sent to spy out Jericho by Joshua [Joshua – Chapter 2] as Father God commanded. Rahab knew Father God had sent these messengers just as she knew what was about to befall Jericho and it was her faith in Father that led this woman to protect them from harm threatened by the king of Jericho; her action, being a doer, demonstrating her faith in Father. It was because of her faith in Father God that she, her family and all possessions were spared by our LORD. Father God blessed this woman because of her faith in Him which she showed in that Rehab felt no fear from the king because she knew Father always takes care of His own. This is the same faith that is required to stand against satan at the appointed time in this generation, all knowing that Father has authority over all matters and He will never leave or forsake His children who are obedient and faithful, doers, knowing His plan because you are studying the truth of His Word. The flax, that fine linen, is the reward Father’s very elect will wear in the Eternal Age as is taught in Revelation 19:7 & 8.
James 2:26 says, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” Having the blessings of Father God is a wonderful gift and it comes to all of those who love, have faith and do the work of our LORD to produce fruit to the edification of He who created mankind for His good pleasure. Faith and work together bring our LORD God Almighty pleasure because it demonstrates how much you love our Father.
