James - Chapter 1
James 1:1 says, “James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.” Christ Jesus came to heal the spiritually sick and gather them back to Almighty God who knows where all of His children are and what is within their hearts. “Twelve” means “governmental perfection.” It symbolizes Father’s perfect, divine accomplishment actively manifested by divine appointment.
James 1:2 says, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;” “Joy” means “to rejoice, be glad.” Overcome temptation joyfully since you are in the service of Father God who will always lead, guide and direct you. Father always takes care of His own children. It is a joy to be challenged and overcome that which is evil, satan himself, doing so through our Living Word, who is Christ Jesus.
James 1:3 says, “Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” Having faith in Father God, which means you do not have to see, feel and touch to have that trust and belief, brings about steadfast waiting for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Work with Father God by understanding His Word.
James 1:4 says, “But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” Be mature in your patience wherein you are lacking nothing spiritually, feeling the fulfillment that comes from a relationship with Father God that no person, place or thing can come between. Your life has order and pleasing Father God is what it is all about because your spiritual self is free from babble and confusion which brings about a joyful peace.
James 1:5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” Father God will provide understanding simply when you seek truth which comes from studying His Word. All understanding comes from Father God through Christ Jesus and the blessing of the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 1:7 teaches of loving Father since all wisdom comes from our LORD. Christ Jesus taught without being complicated if you have eyes to see and ears to hear, with a receiving heart. Father will always liberally provide you with understanding to share His Truths since they are of no use hidden under a bushel.
James 1:6 says, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” Ask Father without doubt, having confidence. Never be suspicious of the truth of Father’s Word. Ask Father for wisdom and do so confidently, not with reservation because that means you lack assurance and cannot be a help in the spreading of Father’s Word.
James 1:7 says, “For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” If you doubt Father, you lose blessings. If you have no faith, it is difficult to love Father and understand His truths. You must trust Father and let Him know how much you love our LORD without conditions.
James 1:8 says, “A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.” You cannot trust a person who sways back and forth, never yes or no. A person who has no foundation cannot be depended on. Father God says yes or no, there is no middle ground. You either love, have faith and trust Father or you do not.
James 1:9 says, “Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:” Give glory to Father when you are lifted up with knowledge and understanding of His Word.
James 1:10 says, “But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.” Rich in the flesh, worldly things, too busy for Father God, you have no spiritual rewards since flesh and blood, all worldly accomplishments and gain cannot inherit the Kingdom of Father God. Father will see to you having what you need physically to sustain yourself in order to be a worker of His Word. Seek the rewards of Heaven by understanding and planting seeds of truth wherever they will be heard, received and accepted.
James 1:11 says, “For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.” Spiritually, the rich in flesh, not serving Father, understanding His Truths, have nothing. If you cannot take your earthly possessions to Heaven when your flesh passes away, truly what good were they.
James 1:12 says, “Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” If you are weak, having no willpower, you are subject to temptation that is not good for your spiritual self. Faith, love and patience bring about willpower to stay in line with the teachings of Christ Jesus, pleasing Father. Seek the rewards of the Heavenly Age that shall be with you eternally. This pleases Father since it is love for our LORD that brings about righteous acts which are eternal rewards received for being a servant to Father, doing His will, sharing the true word, while in the flesh.
James 1:13 says, “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:” I Corinthians 10:13 teaches nothing will happen to you that is not common with everyone and Father will never allow you to be tempted over what you are able to bear. Father will always deliver you from temptation [satan, evil and wickedness]. God does not tempt or burden His children and to even think this causes our Father to be unhappy and find no pleasure in you. Jeremiah 23:33 - 40 teaches that Father does not put burdens on His children, mankind places burdens on themselves most often through disobedience. Accuse Father and you are in trouble since our LORD will allow you to wallow in your own created misery. Father is Love. Father does not burden, He removes His children from burdens when you come to Him with a pure, faithful and loving heart, having hands ready to serve Him always.
James 1:14 says, “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.” There are times when everyone will be tempted since flesh is not perfect and liable to sin. Thank our Father God for Christ Jesus who gave the gift of salvation which offers mankind the opportunity to repent for sins daily.
James 1:15 says, “Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” Flesh will be tempted to sin and death himself who is satan will gladly assist you on a road that leads to jeopardy of your soul, if you allow him to.
James 1:16 says, “Do not err, my beloved brethren.” Do not fall for temptation and when it does come into your path, do not blame Father, run to Father seeking shelter by confessing your love and studying to show yourself approved, for Christ Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Path to the Light. Pray to Father for help and our LORD will always remove you from that which is evil. Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us that He has given us power over all of our enemies now and in those days yet to come if you have the faith to exercise the authority given, which only comes with understanding the Word of our Father God [Luke 10:19].
James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” Father God is the same always and you can count on that. All gifts of the spirit come from Father, the blessing of understanding His Word, sharing His truths, planting seeds wherever they may be heard. Never let the world cause you to be removed from Father God. Stay in His Word, receiving blessings, being faithful, never doubting and trusting in our LORD who created all of mankind for His pleasure, knowing Father will never leave or forsake you. Christ Jesus, our Living Word is the Light of the world. When you give into temptation, you are walking in darkness which is of satan.
James 1:18 says, “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” All were born from above in the image of Father and the angels to live through this Flesh or Second Earth Age for the purpose of loving and following Father God, who is eternal life, or loving and following the prince of darkness who is satan. The very elect {firstfruits} of Father God should always rise above the temptations of this world. This does not mean we will be without sin, it means when we sin to immediately let Father know how much He is loved, that you believe in Christ Jesus and confess of sins daily since the flesh will sin be it through thoughts, words or deeds. With forgiveness comes a new beginning and you move quickly back to do the work of Father, your heart and mind spiritually inclined to those things which bring our Father pleasure. The very elect are a reflection of Christ Jesus as His truths are shared with any who will receive them.
James 1:19 says, “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:” It is necessary to be disciplined and obedient in order to be within the service of Father. Hear the word of Almighty God as you meditate on truth. Do not speak before you have truth embedded within your mind; that understanding only Father can give through faithful study. Be mindful of anger since truth becomes babble and confuse as a result of it. Never be double minded having sweet and sour water, truth on one hand and babble on the other, running out of your mouth. Be patient and let the Spirit of Father God emanate from and through you.
James 1:20 says, “For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” There is no connection between wrath and Father when it comes to sharing the truth of His Word. When you are walking around an angry person, you have lost your spiritual connection to Father God, walking a lonely road spiritually, depriving yourself of that which is good and opening the door for satan to walk in. Father God cannot use miserable people to teach and share His Word. You must have a sweet spirit to serve Father God.
James 1:21 says, “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” Rid your spirit of evil things and humbly receive Father’s Word to become a part of His Spirit wherein it is a part of you, which makes you a doer, having faith. This spiritual mindset changes your life as you are blessed by Father and you can therefore share those blessings with others as you plant seeds of truth that draw them to Father through our Living Word, who is Christ Jesus.
James 1:22 says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Your walk in this flesh is to be one of a christian, which means you are following a Christ-like path and not just acting religious since that requires no work. Revelation 14:13 teaches that when you leave the flesh body returning to Father God within your spiritual body, the only thing you take with you are your righteous acts, which is your “work {labor}” for Father accomplished in the flesh. No work, no rewards. Play church religiously while in the flesh and that is your reward which will serve you no purpose in Heaven.
James 1:23 says, “For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:” When you look in the mirror you see your reflection which is not your true self, rather an image of yourself.
James 1:24 says, “For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” Once you are no longer looking in the mirror at yourself, the image is gone. That is what your religion is if you just listen and never do any work for Father. There is no reward from Almighty God for just listening and never acting on the truth of His Word. Never turn your back on truth, leaving it as that mirror image. Truth should be with you always since that means Father God is with you always.
James 1:25 says, “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” When you stay in the Word of Father God, His Truths, remembering all that you can of the teachings of Christ Jesus and all those who Father God blessed to share the word of truth within the Holy Bible, a faithful student that our LORD can use to be a part of His mighty plan, you can rest assured that Father will always bless you. No matter what is happening within this world, Father always keeps His Word and takes care of His own. The world cannot help you; only Father God can since all blessings comes through Him when you bring our LORD pleasure, which is love. The law of liberty is the Word of Father God which sets you free; thank our LORD for repentance through Christ Jesus wherein there is forgiveness.
James 1:26 says, “If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion [is] vain.” If you are religious which means being of a ceremonious type, traditional, and not studying Father’s Word Chapter by Chapter, Verse by Verse, seeking understanding only Father can give through Christ Jesus, you are playing church. You are not a blessing to yourself or anyone else because you are void of what “thus saith our LORD.” Peace of mind comes with having a true relationship with Father and you can only have this relationship by understanding what our LORD has to say, knowing what His expectations are and what is necessary to be as His very elect.
James 1:27 says, “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep himself unspotted from the world.” You must be a child of Father God in spirit and in truth and not a part of this world since we are only passing through. You are fatherless if you do not know Father God is your True Parent since all of mankind are His children. You are a widow if you do not know you are to be the bride of Christ Jesus when He returns as “King of kings and Lord of lords.” Understanding these truths is what keeps you from being spotted in this world of darkness which belongs to satan. Hear that which is taught by the very elect of Father God since it is not that individual who brings forth truth; rather it is through the blessings of Christ Jesus, our Living Word, through the Holy Spirit.
